Gusmer Enterprises, in partnership with Bucher Vaslin, is excited to announce the introduction of the Flavy FGC, a Grand Capacity Filter that delivers innovative sustainability solutions for modern winemaking. The FGC features a modular skid-based design with options for independent control and automated skid by skid backflushing, maximizing filtration uptime. Up to 4 skids can be connected, providing flow rates up to 9,000 gallons per hour. A retention tank pressurized with recycled nitrogen gas is used to drive backflush cycles, eliminating traditional bladder maintenance and waste. Wine losses are reduced to as low as 0.1% with the on-board concentration tank. Already the industry leader in minimizing water and cleaning chemical consumption, Bucher Vaslin has also added their new Eco Energy Filtration feature exclusively to the Flavy FGC. This patented system automates pump usage and power consumption during filtration as needed without affecting flow rates, resulting in energy savings up to 60%!

Kevin Calvi, Gusmer Field Service Engineer - Cross Flow Equipment Kevin joined Gusmer in 2016 and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in BioResource and Agricultrual Engineering from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. He’s worked as a technician on various food equipment since graduating college in 2011. He started off working on blueberry sorting machines, optical and laser sorting equipment, and now crossflow filtration systems for the last six years. In his free time he enjoys working out, fishing, and trying new restaurants. Benjamin Lanvin, Gusmer Service Technician - Cross Flow Equipment Ben is originally from France, but has lived in California for over 10 years. He received his degree in electrical engineering in 2002. He worked as an industrial electrician for 8 years before becoming a technician on all types of automated machines, both in the US and all over Europe. He enjoys the social part of his work and the direct contact with our customers. In his free time he enjoys playing golf and spending time with his wife and kids.
