Gusmer Enterprises Family owned since 1918 Gusmer Enterprises, Inc. was founded in 1918 to provide products to the brewing market. In 1924, Aage Gusmer incorporated our company as the exclusive distributor of a tank coating for the North and South American brewing industry. Today, Gusmer Enterprises, Inc. is a leading supplier of processing aids and equipment to the entire beverage industry, focusing on the beer, wine, juice, and distilled spirits. Gusmer continues to manufacture and exclusively represent many world-wide suppliers of superior products for fermentation applications. Gusmer also has developed a dominant leadership position in the manufacture and distribution of filtration products (depth filter material, fiber, sheets, stacks, cross flow). Gusmer’s manufacturing plants have achieved ISO 9001 status and GMP certification. In 2021, Gusmer broke ground on their 3rd US manufacturing facility in Hickory, NC. The 130,000 square foot manufacturing facility will focus on the production of liquid filtration media and devices. Gusmer Enterprises, Inc. continues to be privately held and actively managed by the Gusmer family. within the industry. That’s why we are proud to feature Green River Distilling on the front cover of this year’s catalog. Green River Distilling Co. was founded by J.W. McCulloch. He began making whiskey in 1885 and traveled the world to promote his brand. Green River Whiskey became synonymous with quality and known for producing some of the finest bourbon in Kentucky. Soon the whiskey was winning international awards, including a gold medal and “best of show” at the Paris Exposition in 1900, and later the grand prize at the 1905 Exposition in Belgium. To this day, Green River lore is some of the most fascinating in the whiskey world. Known as the “most expensive spirit ever sold,” 20 barrels were once traded for interest in a Colorado gold mine. Songs were penned about the “whiskey without a headache,” and early reviews described it as a “king among whiskeys.” Sadly, at the height of Green River’s popularity, a fire broke out on the distillery grounds. In just three hours, most of the buildings and whiskey barrels were reduced to rubble. The distillery was rebuilt, but Prohibition was passed and J.W. MCulloch wouldn’t live to restore Green River to glory. In the following decades, the distillery passed hands on several occasions. began it’s rebuild. With a great team, brick by brick, building by building, they restored the iconic DSP-KY-10. After two years of hard work, they began distilling again in 2016 with the support of Ron Call, a Master Distiller with 40 years of experience. Ron’s son, Jacob Call, was brought in to oversee the extensive renovation and, ultimately, manage distillery operations under the O.Z.Tyler name. Now, they’ve come full circle. With the support of J.W. McCulloch’s great-grandson, they are proud to raise the Green River flag on the distillery campus again and begin the next chapter in Green River’s history. In 2019, they expanded their production to 94,000 barrels of bourbon a year and in February of 2022, they have relaunched their historic Green River Bourbon brand! Like Gusmer, Green River Distilling realizes that producing great bourbon is both an art and a science. At Gusmer, we have the technical staff and product lines that honor the rich history of the distillation process, while always looking to innovate.The cornerstone of Gusmer Enterprises’ culture is to work diligently in providing an intimate and personal customer experience to each and every individual who buys from us.
